Halstead–Reitan Battery

Two tasks from the real battery: the Category Test, where you work out a hidden rule from bell and buzzer feedback, and the Finger Oscillation Task, where you compare dominant vs. non-dominant hand speed.

Why this matters

Built by Ward Halstead and Ralph Reitan to localise brain damage in an era before imaging — the error count fed an Impairment Index that was among the first attempts to put a number on brain dysfunction.
